Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

Here at the League, our team is passionate about voting. Each vote tells a story and, for so many of us, we celebrate fond memories of our first time going to a polling place, proud moments introducing our children to the democratic process, and helping our parents exercise their right to vote. Participating in elections is such an important way to make decisions for yourself, your family, and your community. Read more from our team about why we vote.

The 2020 election isn’t just about Election Day (which is November 3 BTW) — this year it’s an entire election SEASON. More than 22 million voters have already made their voices heard. If you’ve cast your ballot, thank you for voting! And please pass it on — share your voting story on social media using the hashtag #OctoberVoter. We even have a Facebook frame where you can proudly display your photo with an ‘I voted’ sticker.

If you haven’t made a voting plan, now is the time to do so. Registration deadlines are closing every day and if you want to vote by mail or absentee, you may need to apply for a ballot. Check out the rules that apply in your state at VOTE411.org. You can also confirm your polling place, check voting hours, and research what will be on your ballot.

While 2020 Election voting started more than a month before Election Day, this year we know it won’t be over on November 3, or even November 4. Because millions more voters than ever before are casting their ballots absentee or through mail-in voting, it is going to take time to tally every vote and count every voice — and that’s OK. Our democracy is worth waiting for.

There is so much at stake in this election. Find everything you need to make your voice heard at VOTE411.org!

With thanks,

Sarah Courtney
