The League of Women Voters
Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

October is Voter Education Month and, across the country, more than two million voters have already cast their ballots in the general election. Whether you are voting early in-person, by absentee or mail-in, or waiting for Election Day, now is the time to make your voting plan. A lot of voting rules have changed in 2020, including options for how, when, and where you can vote.  Now is a great time to check your voter registration on VOTE411.org and make sure you are ready to participate in this upcoming election.

Making an election plan is so important this year, and we want you to share yours. Check out this video, and once you’ve made your voting plan, encourage others to do the same. Post about it on your social media channels and be an #OctoberVoter this year!

Earlier this week, millions of Americans tuned into the first presidential debate and while voters might have come away from that experience feeling frustrated or disappointed, around the country, Leagues are hosting hundreds of candidate debates and forums, and we are doing so with rules and civility!

During this Voter Education Month, voters are gathering information about the important decisions they will make this year. We’ve published an important resource for how to judge a candidate, and Leagues are publishing voter guides on VOTE411.org where candidates respond to the League’s nonpartisan questions. Now is a great time to start researching the candidates and issues that will be on your ballot this year.

No matter how you plan to vote this year, the League of Women Voters has everything you need to cast your ballot. But don’t wait. Check out VOTE411.org for everything you need to make your plan and be an #OctoberVoter today.

Thank you for voting!
