Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

Dear Friend,

September is National Voter Registration Month and over the next several weeks the League will be out in force across the country registering new voters and helping existing voters check and update their registration.

If you’re already registered, great! Take this time to remind loved ones in your life to sign up to vote or check their registration.

Do you have any friends or relatives who recently turned 18? Maybe a niece or nephew who moved to a new address? What about your cousin who got married this summer? If they changed their name, they probably need to change their voter registration. It’s a good idea for everyone to check their registration.

Luckily VOTE411.org has all the information they need to get started.

Help us get everyone ready for November 6! Beyond encouraging your friends and family to check their registration, here are two easy steps you can take:

  1. Celebrate National Voter Registration Day on September 25. Share a photo of your voter registration card, an “I’m registered” sign or a voter registration application on social media with a link to our online voter registration tool. Be sure to include the #NationalVoterRegistrationDay hashtag. Encourage your friends to take action!
  2. Guide a friend who is new to the elections process. Help show new voters the ropes by sharing our online elections resource, VOTE411.org with them. VOTE411 can help voters learn about upcoming elections, including who will be on their ballot, important deadlines and information regarding in-person and absentee voting in every state. Then commit to going to the polls with them on Election Day.

Voter registration is the key to ensuring that all Americans can make their voice heard on Election Day. Now is the time to help voters get ready to head to the polls. The critical first step is making sure as many people as possible are registered.

Help us make sure no one is left out.
