League of Women Voters  Take Action

American elections are being deluged with a flood of secret money. The Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United opened the floodgates and secret money now flows from corporations, unions, non-profit organizations and other entities into election campaign ads. These groups can spend millions to get their candidates elected without ever having to identify themselves to voters like you and me.

It’s time to restore transparency to our elections – join us as we pledge to shine a light and work to dry up the flood of secret money in political campaigns!

The League of Women Voters will not stand idly by as big money attempts to take over our elections - for 40 years, we’ve been at the forefront of efforts to combat corruption and undue influence in campaigns and government. We continue to work to create an equal, open and honest election process and to maximize citizen participation.

The battle for campaign finance reform is far from over, and we can’t do it alone – we need your help. Pledge to help us protect our elections from secret money and corruption.

Our organization was founded on the belief that representative government must be responsive to the will of the people. We look to our leaders in Washington to champion issues citizens care about, whether it’s campaign finance reform, protecting the right to vote or environmental protection. The League works with partner organizations at the local, state and national levels to promote an open government that is representative, accountable, and transparent.

Voters have the right to know what corporations and other special interests are making unlimited political expenditures and influencing our elections – pledge to help us keep political campaigns clean and expose secret money to the light of day.

Thank you for all that you do in Making Democracy Work®.
