League of Women Voters

Dear Friend,

Last month, Leagues across the country were busy racking up victories for voters, helping make our elections more free, fair and accessible.

Take a look at what your support helped us accomplish in April:

•    In Georgia, an attempt by the legislature to significantly limit early voting failed after a League-led coalition worked around the clock to ensure its defeat.

•    In Virginia, Governor Terry McAuliffe vetoed a bill that would have required absentee voters to provide a copy of their photo ID with their ballot—a move that would have potentially disenfranchised thousands of voters.

•    In Ohio, Governor John Kasich used his line-item veto to kill language that would have required out-of-state college students who register to vote in Ohio to quickly obtain in-state licenses or vehicle registration in order to vote.

•    In New Mexico, the state legislature approved online voter registration—and although it doesn’t go as far as we would like to enfranchise voters of all backgrounds, it is an important step in the right direction!

I am excited to share these victories with you because we could not have done it without your support. Read more about these victories and our work protecting voters.

Thank you for helping us keep Making Democracy Work®!
