League of Women Voters

Dear Friend,

Last week the U.S. Supreme Court dealt another devastating blow to our democracy and campaign finance laws in McCutcheon v. FEC. This decision coupled with other efforts in our state legislatures to suppress the right to vote are dismantling our citizen-led democracy and selling off the pieces to wealthy corporations, special interests and ultra-rich campaign donors.

But, we know the League is the volunteer-led organization working to restore our democracy! Join with other members and League leaders at our National Convention from June 6 through June 10, 2014 in Dallas, Texas to Power: Our Voices, Our Votes!

Find out more about Convention 2014 and the sessions that will help you more effectively use our powerful voices to push back against attacks to our voting rights and the influence of money in politics, as well as understand demographics and political trends as we march toward our 100th Anniversary in 2020. Specially designed trainings will share tools and strategies to strengthen citizen engagement to help navigate a changing information landscape and an increasingly gridlocked policy environment.

Now is the time to:

We look forward to seeing many of you at our great national gathering in Dallas where we will learn, network and have fun. Be a part of Convention 2014 as we come together to increase our effectiveness as a nationwide network with impact at the federal, state and local levels.

As always, thank you for your continued commitment to Making Democracy Work®.
