Election Day is here! You’ve made your plan, you’ve found your ballot information at VOTE411.org, and now it’s time to get out and vote! Polls are open across the country. Tens of thousands of Americans – including many League volunteers – are working hard to ensure voters have a good experience today, in what has become a landmark year for voter participation and enthusiasm.
Personal outreach is, hands down, THE best way to help encourage your friends and neighbors to vote.
So, if you’ve already voted, you can still pitch in. Help ensure your friends and neighbors get to the polls by asking them to go vote, offering them a ride, or pointing them to VOTE411.org to find their polling place and information about the candidates. Text your buddies and coworkers; ask them what time they plan to go vote.
Once you’ve voted, spread the word.
Snap a selfie of yourself at the polling place or with your ‘I voted’ sticker and share it on social media. Let your network know that you cast a ballot in this election because you care about the direction of our country.
There is so much at stake. Election Day is the one time we are all truly equal – but only if we show up. Exercise your right to vote and encourage the people in your life to do the same.
Our democracy is strongest when every voice is heard, so let’s do this and get out and vote!
