Friend--
Here at the League, we really can’t thank you enough for fighting alongside us to defend the environment. Whether you’re making sure Congress doesn’t use the environment as a bargaining chip in the budget process or you’re telling the U.S. State Department to reject the Keystone XL pipeline, your support doesn’t go unnoticed.
In the last year, it seems that we’ve had a lot of opportunities to encourage change, but no real opportunities to thank our leaders for progress. For this reason, I hope you’ll take a look at Lloyd’s email below and join us as we thank President Obama for proposing life-saving measures to reduce carbon pollution.
The President’s proposal is a strong step forward in the battle against climate change, and we’ll be watching to make sure that it is implemented. Join us to celebrate this victory as the U.S. works to battle the greatest challenge of our generation.

Elisabeth-- The action steps President Obama announced in his speech this week are a turning point in the fight against climate change. After months of calling on the President to move forward with life-saving measures to protect our children, our nation and the world from the damaging effects of climate change, I was proud to stand by while he announced his plan to cut carbon pollution. Join me and thank President Obama for taking historic steps toward fighting climate change. The President’s plan contains many important elements, but cutting carbon pollution from power plants is the central and critical component. Not only will this reduce the risks from climate change but it will improve the air our children and seniors breathe. The League is proud to stand in support of the President’s plan to cut carbon pollution from power plants.
