Time to Pass High Capacity Magazine Bills

Bills to restrict High Capacity Magazine clips to 10 rounds have passed both Senate and House Committees and have been referred to Rules Committees. In the 2019 session no action was taken despite passage by committees in both houses. Just a few months after adjournment, two horrific shootings in Dayton and El Paso involved high capacity magazines, killing over 40 and injuring many more. Reducing magazine size gives potential victims time to escape or intervene with the shooter in case of a shooting in a school, shopping center or other venues.

Please urge your senator and representatives to pass HB 2240 and SB 6077.

If your senator serves on the Rules Committee or your representative serves on the House Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee, please request that the bill be moved out as soon as possible.

This action is no longer active.
